QQI Level 5 Certificate in Graphic Design (5M1995)

Course Description:

This foundation course in graphic design is one year’ and students will learn a wide range of visual communication skills with an emphasis on creative problem solving for graphic design. The course has been designed to offer students and opportunity to develop core skills required for continued study in the area of graphic design, visual communications, digital illustration and creative thinking.
 
Students will explore the graphic designers role in the context of branding, marketing, advertising and communication and develop practical skills in visual language, drawing, mixed media, illustration, design and image making. You will build on these practical creative skills and generate and evolve ideas into finished projects. Learners will gain a recognised qualification and a practical introduction to a variety of Digital Media software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premier Pro.

Leaving Certificate , QQI Level 4 or equivalent standard of education. All applicants subject to interview and online assessment 

This course will take place in the Main Institute Building on the Mountrath Road R32H392

 

€50 Certification Fee. Medical Card holders or those in receipt of a social welfare payment are exempt from this fee

This course will allow students to develop a portfolio of work appropriate for Higher Education courses that require an art portfolio.

This course is recognised as a QQI progression route into a range of courses in higher education including, but not limited to the following.
