Course Description:
This course provides the opportunity to pursue a fulfilling and rewarding career providing care and support to vulnerable people in the community. Students will acquire knowledge of health and social care theories and best practice. Students will also acquire practical experience on work placement. This could include a variety of settings such as resource centres, hostels for homeless, addiction services and youth projects.

Leaving Certificate , QQI Level 4 or equivalent standard of education. All applicants subject to interview and online assessment
This course will take place in the Abbeyleix Road Campus R32 F5T6
€50 Certification Fee. Medical Card holders or those in receipt of a social welfare payment are exempt from this fee

Although many graduates of this programme progress onto further study, there are some entry Level roles that graduates may be considered for. These include Junior Support Worker or Programme Assistant positions in services for marginalised groups. These entry Level positions may require previous relevant work or volunteering experience.
