Course Description:

This course is an excellent first step for anyone planning a career in the social care field. Through this programme, learners will gain an academic foundation as well as the practical experience necessary to progress in the social sciences. Through the study of relevant subjects, learners will develop insights and understanding of a variety of contemporary social issues, touching on questions of equality, diversity and marginalisation.

Leaving Certificate , QQI Level 4 or equivalent standard of education. All applicants subject to interview and online assessment

€50 Certification Fee. Medical Card holders or those in receipt of a social welfare payment are exempt from this fee

Although many graduates of this programme progress onto further study, there are some entry Level roles that graduates may be considered for. These include Junior Support Worker or Programme Assistant positions in services for marginalised groups. These entry Level positions may require previous relevant work or volunteering experience.
