Part-Time Beauty/Hair Dressing Courses Commencing September 2026
All courses are offered on a part-time basis and run for 13 weeks, delivered through a blended learning approach that combines online and in-person elements. Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and suitability assessment before being offered a place. This award aims to equip learners with the knowledge, skills, and competence to provide reflexology treatments that promote relaxation, relieve stress, and enhance overall health and wellbeing under appropriate supervision. Learners will gain an understanding of the history, principles, and therapeutic benefits of reflexology, including the concept of reflex zones in the feet and hands, holistic approaches, and integral biology. They will develop professionalism in client consultation and care, learn to identify contraindications and foot or hand conditions, and apply correct treatment techniques tailored to different client needs. The program also covers evaluation of treatments, aftercare advice, referral procedures, equipment selection, anatomy of the feet and lower legs, and adherence to health and safety standards.
This course will run every Wednesday from 10:00am -4:00pm
This award is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and competence required to work independently in the delivery of microdermabrasion, laser and light-based treatments for skin and hair. Learners will develop an understanding of detailed skin and hair analysis, treatment planning, equipment selection, safe machine operation and the importance of relevant tests before treatment. The programme covers key areas such as laser and intense pulsed light systems, microdermabrasion, the Fitzpatrick Scale, light as electromagnetic radiation, skin healing, cooling methods, electrical principles, contra-indications, contra-actions and possible treatment reactions. Learners will also explore the effects of ageing, lifestyle and environmental factors on the skin, as well as the benefits and effects of treatments on the skin, underlying tissues and hair. Practical skills include carrying out skin and hair analysis, selecting appropriate equipment and protective measures, adapting treatments to suit the client and treatment area, providing aftercare and homecare advice, maintaining accurate records and following health and safety guidelines. Throughout the award, learners are expected to communicate and behave professionally, ensure correct positioning of both client and therapist, and adhere to manufacturers’ instructions when using professional products and machines.

This award is designed to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and competence required to work autonomously and independently in carrying out Indian Head Massage treatments. Learners will explore the importance of taking a holistic approach to clients and treatments, while developing an understanding of integral biology, the anatomy and physiology of the head, neck and shoulders, the structure of the hair and the hair growth cycle. The programme also covers the history of Indian Head Massage, including Ayurveda and basic Doshas, as well as the physiological and psychological effects and benefits of the treatment. Learners will study indications, contra-indications and contra-actions, suitable massage movements, the use of carrier oils, chakras, energy and pressure points, and appropriate referral procedures. Practical skills include carrying out client consultations, adapting treatments to meet individual needs, providing aftercare and homecare advice, following health and safety guidelines, maintaining accurate treatment records and ensuring correct positioning of both client and therapist. Throughout the award, learners are expected to communicate and behave professionally and adhere to manufacturers’ instructions when using professional products.
