Social Care workers support some of society’s most vulnerable people. It’s immensely challenging but rewarding work requiring a high level of motivation and commitment.

Formal qualifications are now a necessity in this area of work. The Advanced certificate in Social, Health and Community Studies is designed to provide an understanding of the many roles of a Social Care Worker.

The main objective of the course is to develop the learner’s knowledge and supervision skills in the area of Social Care. Students are required to obtain approved work placement which is completed two days per week for the duration of the course.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have successfully completed a Level 5 QQI Major Award in a relevant course. In addition applicants may be interviewed before being offered a place on a course.
